There is nothing you ate your whole life that did not….

I am directly speaking to you that buys your food that you eat, from the modern and large markets or stores.

“There is nothing you ate your whole life that didn’t come from violence”.

Just like we spoke last time, about the fur that just looks so good on that coat,

It is the same story line with the food we are eating these days!

All those avocados, ripe bananas, pineapples, matooke you cook and enjoy come a very long and painful way!

So many people are in forced labour, growing all that food that is always on those stalls in time.

Think about it; how does all that food manage to get to the shelves on time?

Or, how long it gets to spend on those shelves?

Most times this food isn’t fully ripe for harvest, and it has a horrible taste compared to food you would eat in Uganda, for example.

Then, how about all that food that we never get bought out from the shelf?

Is it ever given out to the hungry and needy?

I’ve been told that,

“Each year, 119 billion pounds of food is wasted in the United States. That equates to 130 billion meals and more than $408 billion in food thrown away each year. Shockingly, nearly 40% of all food in America is wasted!”

Food waste from Cedar Rapids and Marion Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores will be worked into yard waste and composted at the Solid Waste Agency’s compost site at the Site 1 landfill on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, in Cedar Rapids. (Liz Martin/SourceMedia Group News)

What level of violence do we need to get to, if we aren’t already?

Personally, I am of the view that the least we can do is eat all the food we have bought.

Whatever we have failed to eat must never end up on the garbage trucks and sites.

I know you know someone that doesn’t have enough to eat; give it to them in the utmost discretion!

I love you so much already, but I promise to love you twenty times more if you do that!
