Last evening, I was scrolling through Ronaldinho’s Instagram account and came across a post he made publicizing about the documentary FIFA made about him.
The documentary is called “Happiest Man 1n The World” and is freely available to anyone in the world on their website.
For those that know his story or would love to know it, beyond what pop culture fed us for so many years, you will come across the segment that talks about him being a “rebel”.
This morning, as I was brushing my teeth, I thought to myself,
“Why Are Rebels Never Celebrated”?

This man was very good when it came to playing football on the field
Therefore, many of us that watched him loved and celebrated him for that.
When push came to shove, as the saying goes, he had to “set the record straight” and according to the same pop culture that fed him to us on a silver platter, he was now a rebel!
“Why Are Rebels Never Celebrated”, I wonder!
All over a sudden, nobody wanted to celebrate him anymore, let alone buy a football jersey of any club he played for or the national team he played for… (which happens to be my favourite, Brazil aka the “Samba Boys”)!!!
That is a lot of hypocrisy, if you ask me.
Many people proudly say that they love you in the good times and in the bad times.
When push comes to shove and you rebel against the same establishment, you will be rebuked!
In the documentary, you should listen and watch how he was constantly rubbished by the same people that sang him truckloads of praises daily, when the times were so good.
That same freedom he had, when he was still their darling became a jail for him, wherever he has gone now.

Think about all that.
