Now, back to goal 17

You do realize that the 16 previous goals need human beings to see them through in the net, right?

So much to the point that these same human beings have to work together closely in groups, small circles, bigger circles

Provided they partner up on the job

That’s where this goal comes in

With the sole reason of it’s existence being a reminder that we must revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

I mean, no country exists on it’s own entirely

However rich or developed they are

We need everyone to come together—governments, civil society, scientists, academia and the private sector— to achieve the sustainable development goals.

Quoting the UN,

“We are all in this together. The Agenda, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, is universal and calls for action by all countries, both developed countries and developing countries, to ensure no one is left behind”.

As partners, we need to mobilize both existing and additional resources—technology development, financial resources, capacity building— and developed countries will need to fulfill their official development assistance commitments.

To ensure that the resources needed to score goal 17 are effectively mobilized and monitored, respective countries will be primarily responsible.

Reviews of progress will need to be undertaken regularly in each country, involving civil society, business and representatives of various interest groups.

At individual-level, here’s what you can do to help…

  1. Join/create a group in your local community that seeks to mobilize action on the implementation of the SDGs.
  2. Encourage your governments to partner with businesses for the implementation of the SDGs.
  3. Register your initiatives on the SDGs Partnerships Platform to inform, educate, network, and be inspired by other numerous people who share similar sentiments as you do!

Let’s do this!
