Every item of clothing – regardless of it’s size, purpose, significance and belonging – has at least one colour in it.
People associate themselves with this piece of cloth.
But do we ever stop to think about the kind of power that exists in a cloth?
Take for example, a flag – national or otherwise.
Or a banner – institutional, functional or otherwise.
I know of many places on earth that can have you arrested, for wearing a certain colour or cloth.
Many others will get you in their jails for burning their cloth, that they hoist up a pole!

The most interesting thing about all this is that these pieces of clothing are made by us human beings.
How they get to have so much power over us, remains to be scientifically studied!
The power lies in it’s symbolism for something bigger and important than just a piece of cloth. Very well said!
It’s not so much the fact that its cloth, but what it represents. I recently took a flag etiquette class for my Boy Scout training and learned even more about the American Flag than I already knew from my previous 7 years as a Boy Scout leader.
