These days, literally everyone is talking about cities and building them.
I hear of βsmart citiesβ, βsustainable citiesβ, βclean citiesβ, βcities for allβ!

My mind, however hasnβt fully thought about one self-sustainable city in the world.
Do you know of any of these places that have everything moving smoothly by themselves, without any interruption?

What does the term βself-sustainableβ mean, anyway?
And, are you living in a city or near one?

Always laughing, living, loving and thinking about food. I'm so deeply concerned about health, young people, food and psychology.
Reggae gets me on another level with the way I see life and I enjoy reading.
I think it might be difficult for an entire city to be self-sustaining, but I’ve seen so many small towns in Italy that are self-reliant and it’s absolutely amazing to witness! I would love to live life like that.

This is such an interesting exploration of self-sustainable cities! Itβs inspiring to see how innovation and collaboration can create more eco-friendly communities.

I don’t think any city can be truly self-sustaining. People need too much just to have basic necessities like power, food, and water. It’s an interesting concept, though.

We don’t live in the city. I love visiting a bustling city, but I wouldn’t want to live in one full time.

It would be nice to have that, a big self sustaining city but for now, we are slowly making our way to it. I think some small cities or communities are like that already, it’s just a matter of time for it to make it big.

I honestly can’t think of any myself. I think most cities have some issues but everyone is trying to make progress.

I don’t live in the city.
I think it will take time to make the place become a self-sustainable city. And I hope it will happen, someday.

I don’t think we can live without each other’s support. A self-sustainable city is not a good idea.

I think advertisers glorify the asset they want us to perceive. Self-sustaining cities would be amazing, but I have to admit. I donβt think they are possible.

I am not that sure that such a city even exists, but in Belgium we have lots of rules about this

This may be a weird thought, but this makes me think of myself and if I’d consider me a “self-sustaining city”, or in other words, am I properly taking care of myself? While I think a completely self-sustaining city is far off, I do think it starts with each of us. We’ve got some carpet cleaners here currently and it’s given me some time to meditate a bit. While a self-sustaining city sounds great, I think we each need to be self-sustaining first.
