Last week, we left off having talked about the internal locus of control, right?
Well, todayβs class is going to be very short since we covered literally everything last week.
We are going to talk about the external locus of control and if you missed out, you will have to go back and do some reading of your own.
Tutor2U describes it best,
βA strong external locus of control describes when someone believes what happens to them is luck or fate and that they are not in control of their life; it is all due to external forces in their environment (for example other people).β

Like I said in the beginning,
If you did not attend last weekβs class, you better go back in time and read about the internal locus of control.
It will all make more sense, when you do!
Thank you and see you next time.
Great information, I am going to go read last weeks post too!

This is interesting! I need to go back and read the other posts as it is certainly something that can benefit me.
πππΏ
I’m away off to read last week’s post again for a refresher! A very important topic to cover!
ππΏππΏ
This is a fascinating read! I am more of an external locus control.
πππΏ
Great Post. I’m more of a person who believes in taking responsibility for the outcome of my life, except for the obvious things that I just have no control over.
πππΏ
Ah, I do understand your very short explanation on what it is. Does faith and religious beliefs fall under this category for you?
ππ yes, they do.
I am not sure which end of the spectrum I land on because I believe that we have something to do with the outcomes of our lives. But at the same token, I also believe in God and His plan for us. Now, if we are just taking about the weather then definitely that is out of my control! LOL Great post though to get the mind thinking!

I really enjoyed this sort of treatise on internal and external control. It was a great read.
πππΏ
We can control the internal loss of control can can work on it. We can’t really control the external forces but can control how we deal with it.
πππΏ
I think life is all about making the best decisions we can make in our current situation and how we deal with situations that are out of our control.
πππΏ
I believe I can control a lot of things, but also know there are some things we can’t control. But I always tell my boys that while we can’t control things that may happen to us, we can control how we respond.
πππΏ
Life can be very unpredictable which is why you should always be prepared mentally and emotionally to make the best decisions when faced with difficult life choices.
πππΏ
I know so many people who are guides by their external locus of control. I believe you can fall into both categories (internal/external) depending on the circumstances.
π€π€ May be.
Quite interesting post. I have seen many people like these who believe they have nothing in their control and just sit idle depending whatever happens it is in their destiny and they have to accept it. Sometimes this attitude of people prohibit them to make any effort to achieve something in life.

It’s interesting, sometimes it gets me and think it’s fate but other times would think it’s luck. This is interesting topic to talk about. I need to get back to the previous class to know remember it haha.

I had to read the Internal Locus of Control first. Psychology is a great subject, it made really think about how much control I have over my mindset.
πππΏ
This is good to know. Will review last week’s class. Thank you for sharing.
πππΏ
I think my biggest takeaway here is that life is unpredictable. There will always be things that we cannot control but we can always control our reactions.
