School is this….school is that….school is all….
A song we’ve heard for a while now
From our peers, parents, teachers, those other people we walk by and happen to be out-of-school

The sentiments shared there…wwwuuupppppp
They can be scarier than a heart-attack

“No one can ever make it in life, without going to school”
“You’ll never amount up to anything in this life, stupid bastard”
“Aannhhaaaa, tell me, what do you plan on doing with your life once you’ve dropped outta shule”?
This is where I get to ask you….what would you do, if you were me or in my shoes, when the new school-term begins?

Would you be strongly influenced to live, dine and sleep in your books?
Would you just give up on yourself?
Would you make an extra-effort to make sure that your grades on paper outshine those in your head?

Come the finals at national level
You’ve invested all this much time into your time at school
Literally, you’ve become a walking spirit among the living
The very first exam comes your way and you crush it thoroughly….at least, that’s what you have in your mind as your eyes just saw data being downloaded unto the answer booklet or space

The next ones, you’re not so sure about them but you still have hope that all will turn out as you want it to be

School breaks off and a few days later, the journos make their rounds in the papers, all over the front pages
Saying that person A was the best in the whole district with this good collection and number of grades
On looking at yours, a dark lump grows down your throat
You feel dejected, stupid and you’re kweshaning what happened
Did the douche-bag that gave you these grades carry a grudge on you?
Did you have your breakfast right, every morning before the start of the exams?

That level of school comes to an end and here we are, at post-secondary
What some of us may call uni
Hey hey
It’s a new beginning
From scratch…in class with the same people who topped their communities and the whole country
The pressure begins mounting on the very first month there
You can literally feel them breathing heavily, upon the look at the timetable

What do you suppose is causing this to happen?

Why are so many of us under too much pressure?
Is it because we have a standard to maintain back where we are from?
Don’t we want the world to see us the way we truly are, without the masks we are wearing?
Are our lives threatened by this level of failure and incompetence?

What is bound to happen, if we’ve gotten to this stage?
Young as we are
Looking back at where we are from….the kind of society we come from
What they take pride in and not?

Don’t you agree that this and more, can and amounts to what I call suicidemia?
I stressed out a lot in college, and now thinking back realize – it wasn’t worth my stress!!! I wish I could go back and tell my college self not to take it too seriously!
Aaaaawwwwww…..so sweet of you to say that, Gigi! ?❤️?
I don’t miss going to school one bit and sometimes still have nightmares that I’m not prepared for a final exam lol
Aaaawwwww…..?❤️??
There was so much stress in high school to “hurry hurry hurry” up and figure out what you want to do in life, that a lot of students just “settled” into college without realizing what they truly want in life. I’m a college dropout and doing better now than I would have if I had finished college. To each their own!
Aaaaahhhhhh…wow, that’s sssoooo cool to hear, honey. Keep shining. I’m very happy for you. ?❤️?
Beautiful pictures with all the innocent students and nice school setting. Thanks to school, we are able to read and understanding many things in this world.
Aaawwww…..thank you for appreciating. ?❤️?
Some people put too much pressure on kids to do well in school, while it is important a lot of kids just don’t know what they want to do.
So true and dangerous too, Davindra! ?❤️?
This is such a nice post, being a students is really not easy and very stressful. If I can go back to those time I will not take it seriously I will take it lightly without affecting my grades,
Hhhhaaaaaa…. I love the sound of that, Geraline!
School was always stressful for me. If I could go back, I’d tell my younger self to relax and enjoy the experience. 🙂
Aaawwwww….am so sorry to hear that, Nancie! ?❤️?
I think there is an awful lot of pressure on young people these days to do well and it does not help their mental state at all. I think that it’s important to educate but there should be less pressure.
Yyyyeeeaaahhhhhh….talk about that, Lizzie! ?❤️?
School can be so stressful for people, especially young kids. I try and tell my son to have fun and enjoy himself but to learn as well!
Aaaawwww…..that’s so nice of you, Danielle! ?❤️?
My son goes back to school tomorrow and I am so not prepared for all the stress this new school year will bring.
Aaaawwwwww…..do you need some help adjusting or coping?
I think a lot of people feel that way about school too. Just keep working and keep learning. Sometimes we just have to push through!!!
Yyeeaaahhhh….you’re right, Holly! ?❤️?
I’m one of those weird people who loved school. I just really liked everything about it. I absolutely love the vivid photos in this post
Aaaahhhhh….good for you. I’m very glad to hear that! ?❤️?
We really do put too much pressure on kids to achieve good grades these days. That is important, but it’s not really reflective of all the skills you’ll need to be a successful adult.
???????❤️?
School isn’t just a phase, it’s really the first half our lives and it’s important to be molded perfectly into what you want and what you really are.
?????? ?❤️?
I love going to school. If I were given a chance I would love to study again and again. It takes time to teach our kids the importance of it.
Aaawwwwww….I’m very glad to hear this, Preet! ?❤️?
School is not meant for everyone, if its not your thing, move on to areas were you are more productive because doing what you do not like coupled with the stress from school is actually suicidal.
Yyyaaayyyyyyy! Can I hug you for this?
You’ve said it all, in the simplest way ever!
I loved going to school – I was lucky as I did well academically and had friends. The school work and pressure was often a lot though and it could be hard, Interesting read.
Ooooohhhhh….I’m so glad to hear that, Rachel! ?❤️?
Wow, this definitely made me reevalute my parenting skills. As parents we tend to get carried away with the pressure of the world around us. We instinctively want the best for our children, and because of the society we come from, we believe ‘the best’ is defined by high grades and distinctions. In my opinion this is a vicious circle that can only be broken from the next generation going forward, as the children who are in school now have already been raised with these expectations. I loved your post and the fact that it made me reevalute what I teach my child, because that means your post helped me grow in certain aspects of my life. Thank you!
❤ am so glad to hear that!
Thank you for all of your effort on this blog. My daughter really likes participating in investigation and it’s easy to see why. Almost all know all relating to the lively mode you render precious guidelines via this web blog and therefore boost response from some others about this point while our own girl is becoming educated a lot. Enjoy the rest of the new year. You are carrying out a tremendous job.
Hehe….thank you, Dee! ?❤️?✊?
With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d really appreciate it.
No, Tobias, I don’t. ?❤️?✊?
There are some interesting time limits on this article but I don’t know if I see all of them middle to heart. There’s some validity however I’ll take maintain opinion till I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we would like more! Added to FeedBurner as well
Ooohhh…thank you, Rickie! ?❤️?✊?
It absolutely can and does amount to suicidemia. Why do we place so much pressure on ourselves? What does all this pressure actually stem from? Once you get into the real world the grades don’t even matter so why are we dying for this?
?? these are questions we need to ask, as learners, in school!
As a nerd, teacher and one that loves to learn, I can certainly understand how school can stress students out. I’ve been stressed out and certainly didn’t like school or some of my classes at some point. But I know it’s where I belong. You’ll find where you belong too. Keep learning, laughing, loving & living!
???? well said, Christine.
I think you get out of life what you put into it, and school/learning/books are no exception.
?? I don’t know if I agree with your view, Robin but I love it.
i was never a good test taker. it caused me such stress and even though i was an excellent student i had trouble proving it the ‘standard’ way. i feel for those kids who feel the guilt of not getting past grade one.
??
I did not put too much pressure on myself during college but a lot of my peers did, especially the pharmacy and PA students. It was rough. I was definitely more focused on the social aspects of college but still managed to graduate with honors 🙂
??? and I love you more for that!
I miss schooling, not because of the lessons inside the classroom, but because of the lessons Ive learned with dealing with people outside during the extra curricular activities. <3 i miss them!
??? aaawwww….doesn’t everyone miss those?
I always think school is fun and a good opportunity to learn, I enjoyed going to school every day, but I know there are a lot of people out there who suffer stress or bully on a daily basis. I hope they could stay strong and enjoy going to school, too. – knycx journeying
