Questionβ¦. Is Uganda still HIViral today?

You probably wondering if youβve seen that word, βHIViralβ somewhere, right?
Probably notβ¦
Itβs a word Iβve created from my own mouth and just now, as I write this.

So, it seems that we, in Uganda are still viral, as far as HIV stands
With many of us, refusing to disclose our status to our honeys
Stubbornly refusing to condomize, even when we know that these are dangerous days to be HIV+ and pregnant, as well.
With many of us, still doing drugs by injections
With millions of us not having had those talks to do with things of βebyenshoonyiβ or plainly said, βSex talksβ
As well as, having many of us taking the high road of confidence in ourselves and not minding the red lights.

Have we commercialized our lives so much these days, to the point that all we think of is how much money we will need to take this virus away from us?
I meanβ¦itβs on every mouth you see and come into contact withβ¦all they mention is money for this, that and thoseβ¦.

I think we dropped the whole thing of talking to our inner selves.
Look at our 15 year old girls and boys as well as our Jjaajas of 50, in our communities and back home.
Theyβre viraling so much, one of these days, with the numbers not about to go down, as of yet

For the sake of keeping some sanity in this writing, I beg not to include these scary numbersβ¦feel free to do soβ¦
Perhaps, it will awaken the urge in you, to do something very drastic and revolutionary about the HIVnet
Otherwise, we need to take down this viralism in us today and see more βves than +ves.
I pray Iβve made some sense.

Truestory indeed
Hehe…if you say so, Mugabe. Thank you for sharing.
You have Mahler some sense. There is a kind of neglect or is it forgetfulness of how HIV is viral.

I am happy to have read this post while of course what is going on itβs not a happy thing. It is important to keep educating people and reminding people of what is happening so we can get control.

Eye opening post. I think what we should do is to get rid of the stigma. Maybe that way, people will be more open to getting tested, being educated and following protocols to avoid the spread.
ππΏππΏππΏππππππ I love you, Eileen!
I did not know HIV infections or cases were on the rise in Uganda. This was an eye-opening post for me.

ππππ alright Brianne!
I hate to hear this, but I hope positive changes are happening soon. Education on AIDS and HIV prevention is so important.

It’s not good to know about this in Uganda but it’s good to educate about it and rise awareness.

I wasn’t aware cases were increasing in Uganda. It is important to disclose this information when in a relationship.

Bringing awareness and education is so important to this topic! Hopefully things will get better once learning more information.
